I took photos and sat in on a conversation with young adult author, Julie Chibbaro on April 15, 2017.
After the interview concluded, I took photos of her and her workspace inside her home in Beacon, NY.
On September 25, 2016, I took photos of Donghong Sun during her interview for Mythos Magazine.
The interview was conducted by Sophia Richards in Donghong’s Manhattan apartment.
After sitting in on an interview with Bianca Laureano, an award-winning sexologist, I took photos of her inside her Bronx apartment.
These photographs were taken on November 20, 2016.
This is one of my favorite Hoot photoshoots I ever worked on! Working alongside the other creative director on this shoot, Miarosa Ciallella, we wanted to create a shoot away from the city and integrated in nature, almost giving off a bit of a dystopian feel. With the main point of the fashion looks being the intricate rope design, the photographs focused on the contrast of textures between the rope and clothing, and the rope against the elements of nature.

As someone who has worn glasses practically my entire life, I really wanted to do a fashion shoot where the focus was on eyeglasses. Going off the idea that lenses can reflect and cut light in different ways, I used different filters over my camera lens to achieve these special effects on the final images.

The idea of this shoot came to me after I had a discussion with one of my friends where we talked about what it means to be an Asian living in America. We discussed how we both personally navigate past stereotypes, while still being able to maintain ownership of our identity.

This shoot centered around the symbol of the snake, specifically the ouroboros symbol where the snake is coiled. The ouroboros represents a harmony of opposites which our creative team accomplished in many forms: shooting at the transition between day and night and the mixing of loud prints.
